Meet Jon Soine  ABR, CRS, GRI

I was a U.S. Naval Academy Information Officer for 19 years for 26 high schools from Seattle to the Canadian Border, and had 65+ students attending at one time, including 16 from Bellingham High School, one of which, Astronaut Steve Oswald, has made three space flights as a Command Pilot.

As a Senior Naval Officer, I was a project Manager for the early selection of a site for the Naval Base, Chair person for the Whatcom County BID as the Site for the Naval Base, and later project manger at the Site for The Chief of the Supply Corps, evaluating all conus home ports, both present and future Naval bases.

Became co-owner with my father, until his retirement, of a shoe store for the entire family, spanning 50+ years (1931 to 1985). With a College Major in Radio Speaking and Business Administration, I did my own announcements and advertising programs, including "the Ronald Reagan Show" before he ran for political office in California.

I was the first employer for hundreds of high school and college students, who learned the benefits of the "Free Enterprise System", and then went on to own their own business. In 1983 I formed Soine and Associates Realtors, buying the corner across the street from what is today Jody Bergsma Gallery, who at 14 years old sold her first two paintings in our shoe store, and then went on to sell shoes for me, as well as do our display windows.
